This year, Dubai will be getting the Dubai Eye — the world’s tallest Ferris wheel.
Taking shape on Bluewaters Island, the Dubai Eye stands at an impressive 210 meters and features 48 capsules so spacious you can stroll around inside them. It will carry up to 1,400 passengers in its capsules and is expected to receive up to 3 million visitors a year.
To ensure passenger safety, the ride was crafted from 9,000 tons of steel, about 25% more than the amount used to build the Eiffel Tower.
Bluewaters Island is expected to become one of the largest tourist spots in the world.
